South American qualification is complete. All 10 teams played a league system (home/away).

The top 4 South American teams have qualified for the 2006 World Cup Finals.

The 5th placed team (URUGUAY) played off with the winner from the Oceania Zone (AUSTRALIA). Australia won this interzone play-off and qualified for the 2006 World Cup Finals.
